School of Health Sciences

In 2015, the three Level 4 Diploma programmes offered at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah (PAPRSB) Insitute of Health Science, UBD was transfer to Politeknik Brunei. Since the year 2015, the School of Health Sciences was established and offering Diplomas various health science disciplines in Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic. From July 2018, the Diploma programmes offered will be upgraded to Level 5 Diploma.

The school aims to provide our students with the very best opportunities and supports to pursue studies in nursing, midwifery and paramedic and to develop safe, professionally competent health professionals, proficient in 21st Century skills, innovative, creative and socially responsible with a commitment to serve the community. The school have played a leading role in the development of nursing, midwifery and paramedic education and practice nationally.

The three Diploma programmes offered will provide entry to professional practice in general nursing, paramedic and midwifery. It is a three-year programme delivered over six academic semesters. These programmes are delivered at PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The Institute of Health Sciences consists of top-class lecture facilities, a purpose build simulation centre and clinical skills laboratory for skills practice, student anatomy resource room and computing resources.

At the School of Health Science, we work closely with the professional bodies, government agencies and the community to grow the health practice and at the same time recognize the contribution of the more traditional values of Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB – Malay Islamic Monarchy) in Brunei Darussalam.
