3 February 2026 – Politeknik Brunei held the Launching Ceremony of its latest Solar Energy System and a new core module titled ‘Green and Digital Literacy for Sustainability’ this morning at the Lumut Campus, Politeknik Brunei, Belait.
The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry of Education, as a member of the Politeknik Brunei Board of Governors. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a Doa Selamat, led by Ustaz Pg. Haji Jamaludin bin Pengiran Haji Zainal, to seek blessings for the occasion.
The ceremony continued with a welcoming address by the Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei, Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr. Saiful Baharin bin Pengiran Haji Duraman, who emphasised Politeknik Brunei’s continued commitment to supporting national aspirations in enhancing public awareness of solar energy at the national level.
In conjunction with the launch of Politeknik Brunei’s Solar Energy Initiative, the ceremony also introduced a new core module titled ‘Green and Digital Literacy for Sustainability’, which will be offered starting July 2026, i.e. as of the 2026/2027 academic year. In addition to supporting national and international policies on the importance of green education, the core module aims to provide foundational knowledge on sustainability awareness, digital responsibility, and ethical citizenship, and to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development in Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Following the welcoming address, the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, was invited to officiate the launch of Politeknik Brunei’s Solar Energy Initiative and the ‘Green and Digital Literacy for Sustainability’ core module. This was followed by a video presentation showcasing the related projects.
