Politeknik Brunei, this morning, organized a Tree Planting event to support Brunei Darussalam’s Green Protocol at Lumut Campus, Politeknik Brunei.

40 Tabebuia Rosea trees saplings contributed by the Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei, Mr Lim Kian Boon were planted at the Lumut Campus. 

This event is to support the institution and the Ministry of Education initiative towards implementing one of the Green Protocol guidelines towards achieving the national target of realising the National Climate Change Policy of Brunei Darussalam. The Green Protocol is one of the initiatives spearheaded by the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in promoting a sustainable lifestyle in efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the country, which is in line with the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy (BNCCP) of paving the way for the country to become a sustainable nation.  It outlines a set of guidelines that can contribute significantly to the reduction of carbon footprint, through the adoption of efficient technologies and conservation measures in a number of areas – energy; water; paper and plastic usage; waste disposal management; official events management; and tree planting.
