Welcome Message by Acting Director

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh and Salam Sejahtera,

On behalf of the Management and Staff of Politeknik Brunei (PB), I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to Politeknik Brunei’s official website as I begin my role as Acting Director, effective 1 January 2025. It is a privilege to join this esteemed institution and to collaborate with the PB Team in upholding its legacy while pursuing new opportunities for growth and excellence.

Since its establishment in 2012, PB has achieved significant milestones. Initially offering 9 Advanced Diploma programmes with a population of 443 students, PB underwent a transformative change with the introduction of the Politeknik Brunei Order in 2014, which established it as a corporate body governed by its own Board of Governors (BOG). The BOG has been instrumental in guiding PB’s development, including notable milestones such as the transfer of the School of Health Sciences to PB and the expansion of the School of Science and Engineering to its own dedicated campus.

Today, in alignment with the Brunei Darussalam Qualification Framework (BDQF) and the Ministry of Education’s Skim Pendidikan Negara Abad 21 (SPN-21), PB proudly offers 31 Level 5 Diploma programmes, with a thriving student population of 3,165. Our mission remains clear- to provide quality technical education that empowers our students to thrive in an ever-evolving global landscape.

We take great pride in recognizing the achievements of our 6,337 graduates who have successfully completed their journey with us. Equipped with the skills, knowledge, and values cultivated at PB, these individuals are making significant contributions across various industries, both locally and globally. They embody our vision of producing innovative, future-ready graduates and reinforce our mission of providing industry-responsive, high-quality education and training.

As we move forward, PB continues to concentrate on four key areas:

                1.            Institutional Governance

                2.            Quality Education and Training

                3.            Infrastructure Development

                4.            Strategic Partnerships

These focus areas are in alignment with our national development priorities and goals of Wawasan Brunei 2035 (Brunei Vision 2035). This ensures that our graduates are equipped to lead and contribute significantly to the socio-economic progress Brunei Darussalam.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere appreciation to all individuals who have contributed to the development of Politeknik Brunei into the esteemed institution it is today. To the management, staff, educators and all those who have been involved in PB’s journey since its establishment- your dedication, passion, and relentless efforts have been the cornerstone of PB’s success. Your unwavering commitment has inspired students and has contributed to the growth and achievements of PB.  Special acknowledgement is also extended to our PB team responsible for maintaining this website- your efforts ensure PB remains connected with our community and beyond.

I also express my sincere gratitude to our Board of Governors for their invaluable guidance; our industry partners and stakeholders for their on-going support; and our media partners for promoting PB’s initiatives and achievements.

To our PB students—past and present—you are the heart and soul of this institution, and it is through your collective strength that PB continues to thrive.
