Welcome Message by Acting Director

Greetings and welcome to Politeknik Brunei’s Website!

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you, on behalf of Management and Staff to Politeknik Brunei’s Website.

Politeknik Brunei (PB) was established in 2012 starting off with nine (9) Advanced Diploma programmes and a total student population of only 443.  In 2014, the Politeknik Brunei Order was written and published turning PB into a corporate body governed by its own Board of Governors (BOG) who were tantamount in steering Politeknik Brunei towards further development. This included the immersion of the School of Health Sciences and the extension of the School of Science and Engineering to its own campus which were milestones in the institution’s academic journey.

Now following Brunei Darussalam Qualification Framework (BDQF) and the Ministry of Education’s Skim Pendidikan Negara Abad 21 (SPN-21), PB increased the quality and quantity of its Level 5 Diploma programmes to 33 and consequently increased the total student population to 2,670. 

It is our determined policy to adapt an agile mindset and assimilate ourselves to the world of digital transformation and therefore, PB will continue to develop by embarking on its new Five-Year Development Plan (2021-2025) in order to progress as a Higher Education providing Quality Technical Education in Brunei Darussalam.

Taffawuq (Excellence) is PB’s single but powerful core value, and together we inculcate it effectively in our day-to-day operations and performance where we are always striving for excellence.

Our vision is generating innovative and future-ready graduates by upholding its mission of delivering industry-driven quality education and training.  It is the hope of PB that the graduates from this polytechnic will have the required skills and expertise to drive the industry through the unforeseeable future.   These hopes will be driven by our four strategic focus areas that we will be enhancing for the next five years (2021-2025); (i) Institutional Governance, (ii) Quality Education and Training, (iii) Infrastructure Development and (iv) Strategic Partnership.

With this direction, PB will continue to grow aligning its direction to support the national development plans to prepare its students to become useful and innovative assets in the socio-economic development of the country and ultimately to the attainment of the Brunei Vision 2035 (Wawasan Brunei 2035).

PB would like to acknowledge and give thanks to its BOG for their continued advice in steering PB to where it is today and to what it will become in the future. This acknowledgement also extends to Industry partners and stakeholders who have been with PB throughout its development since its inception.

My sincerest gratitude to the team who have contributed to the development and sustainability of this website.  Thank you for the collaborative and cooperative spirit dedicated by everyone in PB and I hope that it will sustain towards the achievement of our vision and mission.
