The event commenced with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a keynote address from the guest of honour, Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei, Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr. Saiful Baharin bin Pengiran Haji Duraman. In his speech, the newly appointed Acting Director congratulated the students on their successful enrolment and officially welcomed them to Politeknik Brunei. He highlighted their achievement in securing a place in one of the institution’s eight prestigious Level 5 Diploma programmes, spanning across four academic schools.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Politeknik Brunei’s Assistant Directors for Corporate, Planning and Development, Principal and Academic matters, Senate members, Heads of Division, Centres and Schools, as well as staff. One of the event’s key highlights was the pledge-taking ceremony led by Awang Muhammad Ahza Syahmi bin Suhailon, a Diploma in Cloud and Networking student from the School of ICT.
The Orientation Week, organised by the Student Affairs Division (Bahagian Hal-Ehwal Pelajar) in collaboration with the Lifelong Learning Centre (L3C) and supported by the Student Council (Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar, MPP), aimed to foster camaraderie, cooperation, and a sense of belonging among the new students. It also provided a platform to help them adapt to their new academic environment through a series of engaging activities, briefing sessions, and initiatives that showcased the institution’s culture and values.
