Level 5 Diploma in Petroleum Engineering is a programme offered by Politeknik Brunei to students seeking a career in the Oil and Gas Industry. The programme has been jointly developed by Politeknik Brunei and subject matter experts from Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn. Bhd. and other main companies operating in Brunei. 

The duration for the programme is two-and-a-half academic years or five semesters which include 6-months internship at companies in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The programme aims to develop students’ capacity in applying learning principles and practices in the real working environment safely and efficiently. There is a significant amount of practical work and projects which are essential to produce skilled and competent candidates for future employment in the Oil and Gas Industry and related industries. The Programme is also designed to provide graduates with opportunity to further their studies in related areas.

Petroleum Engineering (Geoscience, Petrophysics, Reservoir Engineering and Production Engineering), Well Engineering areas (Drilling services, Completion services and Geoservices) and other relevant areas such as HSSE, Operation Planning and Logistics.

Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering and in related areas at local or international universities. (*Subject to CGPA attained).
