
23 October 2025 – Politeknik Brunei (PB) today successfully organised its 11th Convocation Ceremony at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas. 897 graduates (416 male students and 481 female students) Class of 2025 received their Level 5 Diplomas at the ceremony. The graduates had attended a 2.5-year academic duration undertaking various programmes offered by Politeknik Brunei’s School of Business, School of Information and Communication Technology, School of Science and Engineering, School of Health Sciences, and School of Petrochemical. The Level 5 Diploma is recognised by the Ministry of Education through the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council.
This year, the Convocation Ceremony is organized into two (2) sessions, morning and afternoon.
The Convocation Ceremony began with the procession of students as well as the main procession of the PB Board of Governors and PB Senate members followed by the arrival of Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doktor Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohammad Salleh, the Minister of Education as the Guest of Honour.
The ceremony was blessed with the recital of Al-Quran verses (Surah Ar-Ra’d, verse 20 to verse 24) by Yang Mulia Mohammad Abdul Qadir Jailani bin Mohammad Adiyusnira, a graduate from the Level 5 Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Science and Engineering, PB. The translations of the selected verses were then delivered by Yang Mulia Mohamad Nursyazwan bin Haji Awang Wardi, a graduate from the Level 5 Diploma in Architecture, School of Science and Engineering, PB.
The ceremony continued with the opening remarks by the Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei, Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr. Saiful Baharin Bin Pengiran Haji Duraman as the Chairman of the Executive and Working Committee of the 11th Convocation Ceremony
The main highlight of the day was the Convocation Award Ceremony presented by the Minister of Education. Yang Berhormat Minister of Education handed certificates to awarded graduates from the School of Business and School of Science and Engineering programmes.
The ceremony ended with a Doa Kesyukuran read by Yang Mulia Ahmad Khairulanam @ Muhammad Hidayatil Wafi Bin Haji Abdullah, Mosque Affairs Officer from Balai Ibadat Kampong Mata-Mata, Gadong, Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The afternoon session started with the procession of students as well as the main procession of the PB Board of Governors and PB Senate members followed by the arrival of Yang Mulia Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Haji Sani, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal), the Chairman of PB Board of Governors, and members of the PB Board of Governors, as the Guest of Honour.
Yang Mulia Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal) as the Guest of Honour later gracefully presented the Convocation Award ceremony to graduates from the School of Information and Communication Technology, School of Health Sciences and School of Petrochemical programmes.
The afternoon ceremony ended with a Doa Kesyukuran read by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Wafiy bin Awang Mohammad, Mosque Affairs Officer of Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque, Daerah Brunei Dan Muara.
This year, the total of 897 graduates comprising of 184 students who received their Level 5 Diploma award in Business programmes, 172 students for Level 5 Diploma in Information and Communication Technology programmes, 210 students for Level 5 Diploma in Science and Engineering programmes, 156 students for Level 5 Diploma award in Health Sciences programmes, and 175 students for Level 5 Diploma in Petrochemical programme.
