The signing of the MoU signifies the beginning of a strategic partnership designed to strengthen cooperation in research, education, and training within the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The main objective of this MoU is to establish, promote, and enhance collaboration between Politeknik Brunei and Huawei Technologies (B) Sdn. Bhd. It serves as a broad framework for developing the next generation of ICT professionals by providing comprehensive training and capacity-building opportunities. The partnership also seeks to create a platform for the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and resources that will benefit both institutions—most notably the students of Politeknik Brunei.

A key initiative under this collaboration includes the delivery of Huawei ICT courses at Politeknik Brunei. These courses aim to nurture skilled ICT professionals and enable students to obtain industry-recognized qualifications, such as Huawei Certified credentials. This initiative presents valuable opportunities for both staff and students to attain globally recognized certifications during their studies at Politeknik Brunei.

Furthermore, the partnership will encompass a holistic framework designed to provide students with a complete industry-linked learning experience. This includes industry talks, certification programmes such as the Huawei Certified ICT Associate in Cloud Service Solutions Architect and 5G courses i.e., participation in Huawei ICT competitions, study visits to Huawei’s headquarters in China, internship placements, and career opportunities. Students who successfully complete these programmes will receive official certifications from Huawei.

The MoU will also launch the Politeknik Brunei–Huawei Talent Pool Programme, which grants Politeknik Brunei students priority access to internship placements and full-time employment opportunities within the Huawei ecosystem.
