9 October 2025 – A total of 819 prospective graduates of Politeknik Brunei participated in the Khatam Al-Qur’an Ceremony held at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque this morning, in conjunction with the upcoming 11th Politeknik Brunei Convocation Ceremony.

The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Also in attendance to enliven the ceremony were Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr. Saiful Baharin bin Pengiran Haji Duraman, Acting Director; Yang Mulia Hajah Dinah Haziqah binti Haji Johan, Acting Assistant Director (Corporate, Planning and Development); Yang Mulia Hajah Armah binti Tengah, Acting Principal; heads of divisions, heads of school, as well as lecturers and students of Politeknik Brunei.

The ceremony, which saw the participation of 380 male and 439 female prospective graduates, commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the Guest of Honour, followed by the Takhtim recitation by the participants comprising Politeknik Brunei students and prospective graduates.

The Doa Khatam was then recited by Yang Mulia Muhammad Adrian Azani bin Haji Muhammad Masjuna, a prospective graduate from the Diploma in Architecture, School of Science and Engineering, and was followed by a collective Dikir Marhaban, filling the atmosphere with gratitude and spiritual harmony.

The ceremony concluded with the closing prayer led by the Imam of Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque, Yang Mulia Imam Muhammad Wafi bin Muhammad.

The event aimed to uphold the Qur’an as the foundation of all knowledge and to seek blessings from the divine revelation of Allah. Organised by the Islamic Education Unit, General Studies Department, Politeknik Brunei, the ceremony stands as one of the main highlights traditionally held in conjunction with every Politeknik Brunei Convocation Ceremony.
