15 September 2025 – During a momentous occasion held on the 15th September 2025, Politeknik Brunei (PB) and Information Technology Protective Security Services (ITPSS) Sdn Bhd formally exchanged a pre-signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), originally signed on 9th September 2025, during the official opening ceremony of the Brunei Cyber Security Conference (CYSEC) 2025. The MoU solidified a collaborative alliance between the two institutions, and the exchange ceremony was held at Level 4, The Rizqun International Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan.
Representing on behalf of Politeknik Brunei was Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr. Saiful Baharin bin Pengiran Haji Duraman, Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei, while Yang Mulia Mr. Azman Iskandar Ariffin, Chief Executive Officer, represented on behalf of ITPSS Sdn Bhd. The exchange was witnessed by the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC).

In conjunction with the Cyber Security Conference (CYSEC) 2025, Politeknik Brunei students also showcased their final year project, the KidSafe NFC Tag, a secure, durable, and waterproof wearable designed for school use. The device streamlines attendance tracking, enables cashless canteen payments, and provides parents with real-time updates on their child’s performance and attendance. Built with strong privacy, security, and ease of use in mind, it operates through NFC readers without smartphones, fostering a smarter, safer, and more connected school ecosystem.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions marked the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at establishing, promoting, and developing cooperation between the two institutions in the area of students and staff exchanges and in the fields of education, training, and research.
