3rd November 2022 – The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China today successfully organised a Handing Over Ceremony of Books Donated from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Brunei Darussalam.
The event was held in the Library and Learning Centre, School of Science and Engineering, Politeknik Brunei Lumut Campus.
The Guest of Honour of the event was Her Excellency Yu Hong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam. The event was initiated with a welcoming remark by the Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei, Mr Lim Kian Boon and proceeded with a speech by Her Excellency Ambassador Yu Hong.
The ceremony highlighted the significance of the ongoing collaboration between Politeknik Brunei and the People’s Republic of China in the development of literacy of the language and the appreciation and sharing of the culture of China to the students of Politeknik Brunei in order to develop a workforce that can help develop and sustain the socio-economy of the two countries.
The donated books were handed over to Mr Lim Kian Boon, Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei by Her Excellency Yu Hong, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam which proceeded with the launching of the Chinese Book Collection that will be available in the Library and Learning Centre, Politeknik Brunei.
The event continued with a tour of the facilities and the learning spaces designed for the delivery of programmes in collaboration with Heng Yi Industries Sdn. Bhd, specifically from the School of Petrochemical which used the HyFlex (Hybrid-Flexible) Technology in teaching and learning.
