Politeknik Brunei (PB) is holding its Orientation Week for its 11th Intake, January 2022 Session, Academic Year 2021/2022 for four days starting from the 18th until 22nd January 2022.  This is the first time it is held virtually, taking into account PB existing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to jointly curb the spread of COVID-19 in this country.  A total of 25 registered students attended the Orientation Week.

The main highlight of the Orientation Week was the Welcoming Address event that took place this morning.  The welcoming address event began with the recitation of Surah al-Fatihah and Doa for the protection from COVID-19.  This was followed by a welcoming address delivered by the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Awang Lim Kian Boon, Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei.  In his address, the Acting Director took the opportunity to congratulate the students enrolled in the institution.

The ceremony continued with a pledge by the new Intake 11 students, led by Awang Faiz Hazim bin Muhammad Fadilah, from Level 5 Diploma Programme in Chemical Engineering, School of Petrochemical, Politeknik Brunei. 

The main objective of this orientation is to prepare the students for learning in the new norm.  The Orientation Week is filled with online briefings/talks, sharing sessions and activities that can assist students to understand more about Politeknik Brunei.  This Orientation Week will end with orientation activities conducted by the School of Petrochemical (SPC) to provide an insight into life as a student of the polytechnic.
