    A DELEGATION of 28 undergraduate students and seven lecturers from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Seri Iskandar Perak, Malaysia paid a visit to the School of Science and Engineering at Politeknik Brunei’s Lumut campus.



    The delegates were welcomed by Haji Mohammad Reizal bin Mohammad Ali, the Assistant Head of School of Science and Engineering at the Brunei International Airport on 31st July 2016.


    The purpose of their visit was to establish ties and understand the education system at Politeknik Brunei and to explore the possibility of cooperation between the two institutions.


    Present to receive the delegation were Denis Ho Mun Tai, Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei, acting assistant director, heads of department, head of schools, lecturers and students of the polytechnic.



    Leading the delegates was Neta Suredah Baharum. Also present at the meeting were Architecture Department’s Dr Asmalia Che Ahmad, Dr Suzana Said, Rosmawati Mohamed, Ahmad Faiz Hasan Nazeri and Izat Anuar.



    The visit began with a brief presentation about the programmes and activities conducted by Politeknik Brunei and UiTM Seri Iskandar Perak, Malaysia.


    The meeting concluded with a question and answer session as well as a tour of Politeknik Brunei’s campus.


    The delegates also watched an array of cultural performances by the students from Politeknik Brunei such as the ‘Aduk-Aduk Dance’, ‘Tarian Tudung Dulang’, live musical performances. The delegates from UiTM Seri Iskandar Perak also introduced their ‘Dikir Barat – Wau Bulan’ and ‘Silat Performances’.


    During their five-day stay (July 31-August 4), the delegates also visited places of interest in the Sultanate such as the Kianggeh wet market, Kampong Ayer, Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, the Royal Regalia Building, Seria Oil Town, Jerudong Park Playground and the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre.
