A GROUP of Interior Design (ID) students from Politeknik Brunei participated in the 25th DUALISM[A] Architectural Students Competition and Workshop held at the University of Malaya (UM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, nabbing second place in two separate categories.
Md Hanis Zaini, Nurhafiyah Abdullah and Siti Nurfazlina Wasli were placed second in the Design Competition (Category C), while Saiful Adli Azahari also took second place in Architectural Essay.
A total of 15 students made up the delegation, visiting UM to research and share information related to the theory, concept and philosophy of Dualism in Architecture. The group also hoped to establish a platform to share studies that focus on architectural and interior design, and to promote collaboration, discussion and knowledge sharing, alongside experience and expertise on developments in teaching and learning.
The event was held from August 21 to 25, and saw participation from 651 students and lecturers from 25 universities and polytechnic institutions from Malaysia, Indonesia and South Korea. It was organised by the Department of Architecture under the Faculty of Built Environment at UM.
