    TEAM Ecofriendly Water Supply (EWS) was crowned victor at the closing of the four-day ICT.INNOV8 technology camp, with their online application 'WaterPro.'



    The app is designed to monitor water usage of residents in their household, at the same time allowing them to prepay their water bills wherever, whenever.


    The team received a $250 cash prize, certificates and prizes from the sponsors during the closing cermony held at the iCentre in Anggerek Desa.


    Politeknik Brunei Director Denis Ho Mun Tai was the guest of honour at the closing ceremony, while other guests included Acting Assistant Director of Politeknik Brunei Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar, officials from Google Developers Group Brunei Darussalam, Startup Hub, iCentre, heads of departments, heads of schools, and lecturers from Politeknik Brunei.



    The ceremony opened with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by remarks by Mohammad Hamdani bin Mustapa, Acting Head of School of Information and Communication Technology.


    The day saw the five top teams presenting their innovative ideas to a panel of judges. The programme, 'ICT.INNOV8,' coordinated by the School of Information and Communication Technology (SICT), Politeknik Brunei in collaboration with Google Developers Group Brunei Darussalam, Startup Hub and iCentre, was launched at the iCentre last Saturday, and drew the participation of over 180 students who showcased their innovative ideas on ICT applications.
