Politeknik Brunei (PB) has demonstrated its
commitment to the development of a higher institution quality and excellence are
the central focus. In January 2012 the Department of Quality Assurance was
established. Central to its role is assuring and improving quality in all areas
of operation at PB through the design and implementation of a comprehensive ISO
9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS).
The QMS will be developed based on two
overarching principles, Quality Assurance and towards the achievement of the
Vision and Mission of PB. It is hoped that these two principles will be
embedded in all aspects of PB activities. Furthermore, the PB-QA QMS are also in
line with the expectation of the vision and mission of the Ministry of
Education, Brunei Darussalam and the vision of Brunei National Vision (known as
Wawasan Brunei 2035) which aims to be recognised for the accomplishment of its
educated and highly skilled people as measured by the highest international
The QA Department of PB aims to maintain quality in the following areas:
• Quality teaching
• Quality Learning
• Quality programmes
• Quality graduates
• Quality infrastructure
• Quality administrative process
To date the Department of Quality Assurance together with the Research and
Development Department have conducted various activities related to Quality
Assurance. Among them are:
• Design, Implementation, and Verification of examination papers
• Assisting Schools with the design of rubrics for Final Year Project
Reports and Presentation Assessment
• Assisting Departments with the design, implementation, and analysis of
Survey for improvement process
• Assisting Schools and Departments with the development of Strategic
Initiatives, key Performance Indicators, and process and procedures for improves
QA is a continuous improvement process. Hence, from time to time we will
conduct survey, interviews and discussion with staff, students and
stakeholders to meet the demands of the various stakeholders. In view of
this we would like to invite you to give us feedback on our existing system
of teaching, learning curriculum, infrastructure and others. This
information will be useful to enhance the quality of education and
administrative process at PB.
