• KACA’S FUN TIME AT BUBBLE MONKEY

    LAUGHTER and cheers filled the atmosphere of Bubble Monkey in Kiulap yesterday as children of the Association for Children with Special Needs (KACA) were treated to a fun-filled day.

     

    Organised by Politeknik Brunei and Bubble Monkey, the charity event dubbed ‘KACA Bubble Fun Day’ was part of the intake five business students’ work assessment under their Project Management module.

     

    The event kick-started with a welcome remark by group leader of Politeknik KACA team Syabil Syahmi Shamsul Baharin, followed by a speech by the guest of honour, Managing Director of KACA Hj Awang Abdul Alim Hj Awang Othman, who thanked the students for their efforts in organising such a meaningful event to bring cheers to the association.

     

    The event then proceeded with fun-packed activities and games such as archery tag and futsal as well as face painting and an opportunity to capture happy moments at a photo booth.

     

    Carrying the theme ‘Youth Embracing Social Responsibility, the project was organised to provide awareness and bring benefits and contributions to those in need and the charitable organisations involved in the initiative. These include the Society for the Management of Autism Related Issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei, Pusat Ehsan, KACA and Association for Paraplegic and Physically Handicapped People of Brunei Darussalam (PAPDA).

     

    In an interview with the media, Syabil Syahmi said, “Among the objectives of the project is to spread cheer and add merriment to the special needs centre with fun interactive activities. It is also through these activities that will help the students to further develop their coordination and the necessary skills to help them in their everyday life and social situations.”
